Privacy Policy for Knock

Last updated: August 28, 2026

This policy covers the mobile app Knock (package identifier com.lcsoftwaresolutions.knock) on iOS and Android, published by Naeim Salib ("we", "us"). Contact: Accounts@lcsoftwaresolutions.com.

The short version

Knock is an offline game with one optional online feature: a daily and all-time score list. Your game progress stays on your device. If the score list reaches our server, it carries only a randomly generated player number, a display name (ours by default, yours if you change it), an avatar number, and your scores. There is no account, no password, no email address, and nothing that identifies you as a person. You can delete all of it from inside the app at any time, and the game plays exactly the same if you never go online at all.

What we collect, and why

Knock has no sign-up step, and we should be plain about what that means in both directions. An anonymous player record is created automatically the first time the app runs with a working internet connection: our server generates a random player number and a random display name and sends them back. You are not asked first, because there is nothing to ask for — no name, no email address, no account, and no identifier belonging to your device is involved. If you would rather not be on the list at all, Settings → "Delete my scores" removes the record whenever you like, and the game carries on exactly as before.

WhatWhat it isWhy we have it
Player number A random identifier (a UUID) generated by our server. It is not derived from your device, your hardware, your phone number, or anything about you. It is the only thing that connects your scores to each other, so your standing persists between sessions and so you can delete your own data.
Display name 3–12 letters and digits. Our server picks a random one for you; you may change it. Spaces, punctuation and other characters are not accepted. So the score list can show something other than a number. It is public to anyone who views the list.
Avatar number A whole number from 0 to 11. The picture itself is drawn by the app on your device; the server only stores the number. So your row on the list looks like yours. Also public.
Daily score and its date Your best score for one calendar day, together with that day. The date is the calendar day where you are, not ours. To rank today's list. Only your best score for a day is kept — a later, worse run never replaces a better one.
Lifetime total A single running total of points you have scored. To rank the all-time list.
Rate-limiting counters A timestamp and a small counter, stored on your own player record. To stop one device from flooding the service. They are deleted with the rest of your record.

That table is exhaustive. There is no other field, and the score list is the only feature in Knock that sends anything anywhere.

What we do not collect

We do not collect or ask for your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, precise or approximate location, contacts, photos, calendar, microphone, camera, or health data. Knock requests none of these permissions.

We do not read or store any hardware or advertising identifier — not Apple's IDFA or identifierForVendor, not Android's Advertising ID, not the IMEI, MAC address, or serial number. We do not build a device fingerprint. There is no password, authentication token, or credential of any kind, because there is no account to log in to.

We do not store your IP address. As with any internet service, your device's IP address is necessarily visible to our hosting provider in order to deliver the request, and it is used momentarily at their network edge to limit how many new players one connection can create. Knock never writes it to our database and never keeps it.

Your game progress stays on your device

Everything that makes up your progress is stored locally, using your browser/WebView's standard local storage, and is not uploaded:

If you uninstall the app, this local data is deleted with it. On Android, the operating system's own backup feature may include app-local data in your general phone backup — standard Android behaviour under your control in system settings, not something Knock initiates.

Uninstalling does not delete your scores from the score list, because those live on the server. Use "Delete my scores" first — see below.

Playing offline, and scores sent later

Knock is built to work with no connection at all. Every board, every point and every setting works identically in airplane mode; the score list simply says it is offline.

If you finish a daily board while offline, the score is held on your device and sent the next time the app runs with a working connection — which may be days later. A score sent late still carries the date you actually earned it, so it is ranked against the correct day rather than the day it happened to arrive. The same applies to a name change or a deletion request made while offline.

If you never connect, nothing is ever sent, and the game is complete without it.

Who processes this data

The score service runs on Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.), which provides the computing and database infrastructure as our processor and does not use the data for its own purposes. The database is located in North America. Cloudflare also handles the network connection itself, which necessarily includes your IP address as described above.

No other third party receives any of it. We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for advertising or marketing, and we do not use it for cross-app or cross-site tracking of any kind.

How long we keep it

Your player record and scores are kept for as long as you leave them there, so that your all-time standing continues to mean something — there is no automatic expiry. You can remove all of it at any moment, and when you do it is deleted immediately and permanently rather than being archived.

Daily score rows for past days remain associated with your player record until you delete it. Routine operational logs produced by our hosting provider — the ordinary record of requests reaching the service, used for debugging and abuse prevention — are short-lived and are not used to build any profile of you.

Deleting your data

In the app: Settings → "Delete my scores". It asks you to tap a second time to confirm. This erases your player record and every score row attached to it, including your display name and avatar. It takes effect immediately; if you are offline when you ask, the request is queued and sent as soon as a connection is available.

Afterwards the app simply behaves like a fresh install as far as the score list is concerned — a new random player number is issued the next time you connect, unrelated to the old one. Your local game progress is not affected; to clear that, use Settings → "Reset progress", or uninstall the app.

You can also write to Accounts@lcsoftwaresolutions.com and we will delete it for you. Because we hold no email address or other contact detail, you will need to tell us the display name you used so we can find the record.

The display name is public, and moderated

Your display name appears on a public list. Please do not put anything in it you would not want shown to strangers — a real name, a contact detail, or anything offensive. Names are limited to letters and digits, so they cannot contain a web address, an email address or a phone number, and names matching a blocklist are rejected when you try to set them.

If you see a name that should not be there, use "Report a name" on the Leaderboard screen, or write to Accounts@lcsoftwaresolutions.com. We will rename or remove it.

Diagnostic information you can choose to share

Knock includes an optional, on-device diagnostics tool (Settings → "Send diagnostics"). It is entirely opt-in and manual:

Advertising

Knock currently displays no real advertisements and contains no advertising SDK. The reward-video-shaped prompts in the game are locally simulated placeholders drawn by the game itself — no advertising network is integrated, nothing is requested over the network for them, and no advertising identifier is read, collected or shared.

If this changes — if we later integrate a real advertising network — this policy and the store disclosures will be updated first, and that update will describe exactly what the advertising SDK collects.

In-app purchases

Knock has no in-app purchases and no payment processing of any kind. There is no in-game currency: nothing in Knock is bought, with real money or otherwise.

Security

Everything sent to the score service travels over HTTPS. Your player number is the only credential the service has, it is stored on your own device, and it is never shown on the score list — the list carries display names and avatars only.

We should be straightforward about the limits: because scores are calculated by the game on your device, we cannot fully prove a submitted score was genuinely earned. The service refuses impossible scores, keeps only one best score per player per day, and limits how fast requests can arrive, but a determined person could still post a score they did not earn. This affects the accuracy of a leaderboard, not the safety of your data.

Children's privacy

Knock is a general-audience game. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because the display name is chosen by the player and shown publicly, Knock is not intended for young children, and it is not enrolled in Google Play's Designed for Families programme or Apple's Kids Category.

No account, email address or age is ever requested, and there is no chat, messaging or free-text content anywhere in the app. If you believe a child has set a display name you would like removed, write to Accounts@lcsoftwaresolutions.com and we will delete the record.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, or to object to its processing. In Knock's case deletion is built into the app and takes effect at once, and correction of the only editable field — your display name — is likewise a setting you control. For anything else, write to Accounts@lcsoftwaresolutions.com.

We rely on our legitimate interest in operating a score list for the game's players. Because the record is created automatically rather than by an explicit sign-up, the way you withdraw is deletion: Settings → "Delete my scores" erases it at once, and the game continues to work exactly as before.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes — most notably if we integrate a real advertising network or analytics component. We will update the "Last updated" date above, and material changes will also be reflected in the app's Data Safety (Google Play) and Privacy Nutrition Label (App Store) disclosures.
